This past weekend was a big one for Human Powered Racing.

A big ride on Saturday (Rocky Point Gillespie Route with 4 X 10min Tempo/ 10min recovery) for most of the team, followed by the hosting of the Triathlon of Compassion on Sunday meant a lot of busy athletes as both racers and volunteers. At the Triathlon of Compassion we had our very own xxx xxxxxx taking out the win by a very narrow margin over Carla Rhodes with Human Powered Racing athletes taking the next 3 positions to have 4 out of the top 5 women overall. The men also cleaned up with age group podium positions for all.

On Monday, 16 Human Powered Racing athletes (including a few who had raced the day before) loaded onto the Coho ferry at 6am to head over to Port Angeles, Washington for the annual Canada Day Hurricane Ridge climb. The weather for the ride this year was spectacular. Arm warmers and gloves weren’t even needed on the descent as the temperature climbed into the mid 20’s at the top.

The weekend was topped off with some well deserved cold beer and sangria on the CANOE patio.

Next Up: XTERRA Victoria on July 14th
