While we are still in what is technically “off season” for Human Powered Racing, that does not mean we have not had athletes out there still racing and putting in some amazing performances. In the past month we have had Jodi Mucha and Adrian Walton finish the extremely tough Leadman Triathlon in Bend, Oregon. Check out there race report here.
We also had a few athletes brave the extremely harsh conditions of the Ryder Hesjedal Tour of Victoria a couple of weeks back. Both April Vesey and Richard Wey had great day’s out there and finished strong (albeit a little wet and cold) while Carmen (I am never going to race) Mckay finish strong in the 50km event.
This past weekend was the Goodlife Fitness Marathon, Half Marathon and 8km here in Victoria where once again, Jodi and Adrian were out racing and finishing the full marathon in order to validate their entries into Ultraman Canada in 2014. In the half marathon we had some great performances from Sandy Wilson and Catherine Holder. We also had two PB times set by Brian Strilesky and Heather Whittall. Kelly Sharman used his years of experience as a pacer for a new runner in the half marathon and once again we had Carmen Mckay out there in another race as she finished up the 8km. Congratulations to you all!
Time to rest. Less than a month until the new season with Human Powered Racing begins.
