Ride the Rock Challenge

Ride the Rock Challenge

Human Powered Racing has created a series of challenge events to give our athlete community a focus during these times of social isolation and physical distancing. We understand your desire to push your limits and feel your need to set and achieve goals. The Covid Challenges are a way to accomplish this in the absence of group events. Each challenge can be completed while being socially responsible and safeguarding against the spread of COVID-19.

The first of the Challenge events is the Ride the Rock Challenge. The challenge is to ride the equivalent of the 571 Kilometre length of Vancouver Island, from Mile Zero in Victoria to Cape Scott at the northern tip of Vancouver Island, during the month of May. If you are up to an extra challenge, ride it both ways for 1142K total!

Go to the event page to register for the Ride the Rock Challenge. Every entry will receive a custom made commemorative plaque made by our friends at Precision Laser Engraving. The plaques are fabricated from recycled wood right here on Vancouver Island. As you reach milestones along the journey you will receive medallions that mount on the plaque. There is one medallion for reaching the halfway point in Campbell River, one for reaching Cape Scott, and another for those who get back to Victoria!

All challengers are listed on the Ride the Rock Challenge progress page which will be updated daily to show everyones’ distance traveled. Family and friends will be able to follow your progress.

You track your distance each ride and send us proof. Anything that records the date and the distance travelled will work. Let’s make the most of our current situation and Ride the Rock!
