Sri Chimnoy/Metchosin Triathlon Wrap Up
2 more weekends, 2 more great races in the Greater Victoria Area.
The August long weekend saw a big contingent of Human Powered Racers taking on the long running Sri Chimnoy Triathlon.
In the sprint race we had Nancy Carleton taking 2nd place overall and winning her age group once again. Catherine Holder and Justin Martin (1st) both made strong returns to racing and Richard Wey (3rd) made it onto the podium once again.
In the olympic distance event; Rob Dibden (3rd), Drew Robertson (2nd), Bob Janicki (2nd), Marcia Kirby (another win), April Vesey and Kelly Sharman (1st in category) all had great races. Congratulations to everyone.
This past weekend saw Human Powered Racing host the inaugural Metchosin Triathlon. Aside from some windy conditions on the water the race was a huge success. Race director Adrian Walton and his team of volunteers should be commended for putting on a fantastic event. This race is sure to grow in popularity so be sure to sign up early for the 2014 edition.
Human Powered Racing wasn’t just out there supporting on this day. We had Tammy Dalrymple using the event as a tune up for Ironman Canada, Chad Dalrymple out there ripping it up and Fawn Whiting was making her return to racing with an age group win and 2nd overall finish. Well Done Gang!!!!
Summer is winding down, but we still have some big races ahead on the Human Powered Racing athlete calendar; Ironman Canada, ITU World Championship, Leadman Triathlon, 70.3 World Championship, Ironman World Championship (TBD?)
