Mo Riding Bike at the Victoria 70.3 in June

World Champs and Running

With the hint of fall weather in the air and most of our big triathlon’s in the rearview mirror we have a number of athletes preparing for a fall running goal. This means that a few of our athletes will be tackling the Goodlife Victoria half or full marathon. This past weekend a 10km race was on the program and Human Powered Racers were out testing their fitness.  Justin Martin (2nd age group), Catherine Holder and Victoria Read raced the Zoot Oak Bay 10k. Debbie Jackson (4th overall) raced in Ottawa at the MEC running series 10k taking place at the Rideau Carleton Raceway. Sandy Wilson and Mike Neill raced to second place finishes in the 40 – 44 age group at the Pints to Pasta 10k in Portland, Oregon.

Once again, Human Powered Racing sent athletes to the 70.3 World Championship. Monique Moore and Fawn Whiting represented the team with strong efforts in Mt. Tremblant. Fawn cracked the top 10 in the women’s 25 – 29 age group with a ninth place finish in a time of 4:45.

Congratulations to both Mo and Fawn from the entire team!
