Some youth work out in preparation for the upcoming Youth Triathlon Race at Uvic

HPR Youth 2016

The 2016 season brings some exciting changes for the Human Powered Racing Youth Team.

In an effort to bring the great sport of triathlon to more kids we are expanding the youth program to both the West Shore and the Saanich Peninsula. Weekday workouts will be from 4 – 5pm at The Juan De Fuca Rec Centre and various locations on the Saanich Peninsula. Weekend workouts will continue to be based out of Crystal Pool in downtown Victoria and will run from 2 – 5pm.

Each program runs from the beginning of November to the end of June. We recommend that team members also join a swim program appropriate to their age and development level. Human Powered Racing has an arrangement with Tyee Aquatics to provide triathlon appropriate swim programming to Human Powered Racing athletes. Tyee Aquatics programming is available at the Crystal Pool and the Esquimalt Recreation Centre.

Team members can choose which practices to attend and pay according to their own schedule. The full program consists of 2 mid week practices and all the Saturday practices. Saturdays only are recommended for athletes new to the sport.  The fee for each weekly segment is $30 per month plus GST.
