2 Races and a Wedding
A number of Human Powered Racing athletes were out racing the 37th annual Sri Chimnoy Self Transcendence Triathlon this past weekend. Famous for flowers and amazing post race pancakes, this race is about as grass roots as it gets, but being Victoria it always brings out some very strong athletes as well. Human Powered Racing had athletes racing in both the Sprint (which doubled as the BC provincial championship at that distance) and the Olympic race with Barb Rober taking the Olympic Distance WIN after last years win in the Sprint Distance event.
Sprint Distance Results
Mike Neill – 1st – 40 – 44
Nancy Carleton – 1st – 55 – 59
Olympic Distance Results
Barb Rober – 1st – OVERALL Female
Ivor John – 2nd – 40 – 44
Bob Janicki – 4th – 55 – 59
Richard Boxhall – 5th – 35 – 39
Mark Hopkins – 10th – 35 – 39
On the other side of town we had Shane Russell racing the 3km HtO Swim for MS. Shane finished 1st in his age group and 3rd overall.
While all of this racing was happening, team member Liz McCarter was in Portland, Oregon to tie the knot with long time partner Phaethon. Congratulations to you both!
