Weekend Update – May 14th

Many of us were glued to our computer screens on Saturday afternoon as we followed Human Powered Racing athlete Diana Thaxter race her way onto the podium at Ironman Santa Rosa. With an absolutely amazing 3:42 run (a time that happened to match her bib number), Diana put in an incredible performance. Racing for the win, Diana just ran out of road as she moved up to 3rd place, only 2 minutes out of first. One of the most dedicated and hard working athletes out there, this was a great early season result. Way to Go!

On May 6th at the BMO Half Marathon, Monique Moore ran a very solid 1:44. This was part of a good solid training week for Mo as she gets ready for summer race season. Speaking of race season, for many HPR athletes, the coming few weeks will see a number of our athletes toeing their first triathlon start lines of 2018. Look for us at the Westwood Lake Triathlon in Nanamio on May 18th, the Victoria 70.3 on June 3rd and if you happen to be on the Big Island of Hawaii on June 2nd, there will be a rather large contingent racing the Hawaii 70.3.

Anyone looking for something to do this coming long weekend? We at Human Powered Racing have a couple of options;

Looking to Train?

There are still have a few spots left for our Whistler 70.3/Ironman Canada Camp. This camp runs from Friday, May 18th until Monday, May 21st out of Whislter, B.C.

Looking to Volunteer?

If you happen to be Victoria and you have some extra time this Sunday, May 20th, we are still looking for  more volunteers to help out with our HPR Youth Triathlon West Shore. This event is the first of the Greater Victoria Island Savings Youth Triathlon Series and it is always great fun to be a part of. If you would like more information about our Whistler Camp or if you would like to help out and volunteer at our youth triathlon please contact Mike ()
