Human Powered Racing Athletes Race to Podium

While a number of Human Powered Racing athletes were helping out at XTERRA Victoria, one of our athletes and race sponsors, Dr. Mark Hopkins was in the middle of the action himself proving that you don’t have to ride a mountain bike a lot in the previous couple of months to race XTERRA. :)

Co-Sponsor, Dr. Derek Hopkins was not at this years event, but was staying active and racing his road bike in the Okanagan at the Axel Merckx Gran Fondo in Penticton. A big thank you to the entire Hopkins family (Jordan, Olivia, Colette, Lisa, Torsten, Linnea) for supporting XTERRA Victoria on many levels; as athletes, volunteers, ambassadors and sponsors.

While the action was hot at Durrance Lake, across town at the Langford Triathlon both Barb Rober and Colette Hopkins were racing to podium finishes.

Coming off of her overall win at the Tri of Compassion, Barb raced to 2nd in her age group and 7th overall.

Colette, who finished 3rd overall at the T.O.C. won her age group and cracked the top 10 in the women’s standings finishing in 9th place.

Congratulations to everyone who found a finish line this weekend.
