Everesting Mt. Doug
For many years I’ve set myself an annual challenge. Previous examples include getting a six pack (FAIL!), cycling to work every day for a year, forming a one man band and giving up meat for a year.
This year my challenge has a personal touch.
In 2017 my friend (and hero) Lisa found out her son, Luke, has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. There is currently no cure. So Luke’s Army was created by Lisa, to raise money for research into Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and take the battle to this cruel illness.
So, my challenge for 2018 is to hike, run, walk, jog, cycle (crawl?!) up Mt Doug over a 24 hour period…….my hope is to ascend the height of Mt Everest (approx 60 laps) but the true goal is to raise money for charity.
I hope this challenge will inspire people to join me, support me, donate or get involved any way they can. The hope is that people will pledge to donate a small sum for each ascent, the ultimate motivation to keep going!!
Start is 10am (PST) on Saturday, October 6th.
I know a few of you are thinking of joining me for a few laps. ALL are welcome! Would be great to have some company as 24hrs is going to be a loooooong time!
It’s fair to say I’m terrified, would be great to see some friends and teammates on the hill!!!
