There is a race, part of the XTERRA Pan Am Race Series and XTERRA World Tour, on an island off the West Coast of British Columbia, Canada. The race is XTERRA Victoria. The race is renowned around the world for having one of the the best bike courses on the XTERRA circuit, with amazing west coast single track and incredible trails that challenges riders of all abilities.
For five years the XTERRA Victoria course has not changed. Why mess with what works? Over these past five years our friends at The South Island Mountain Bike Society (SIMBS) have been hard at work improving the trails in the Mount Work Bike Park.
After looking at the improvements to the bike park we were able to identify some changes to the course that will make it even better. We have added more single track and removed portions of the fire road. The overall distance and elevation profile will remain largely as is, but the course will be much more fun and challenging for the rider. XTERRA Victoria will be a true test and these changes should ensure that it keeps it’s reputation as one of, it not the best course on the XTERRA tour.
Registration for XTERRA Victoria will be opening soon. Check out the bike course changes on the XTERRA Victoria website.
