Human Powered Racing takes on the Cowichan Challenge Triathlon
We are excited to announce that Human Powered Racing is the new host of the Cowichan Challenge Triathlon in 2022. Our friends at CeeVacs Running Club have been organizing the event for many years and decided that it was time for a change. We have agreed to step in and take over while CeeVacs continue to support the event.
Under the Human Powered Racing banner the Cowichan Challenge will retain the same grass routes community feel it is known for. We have made a few changes to the bike courses to take advantage of recent re-paving of some of the roads that wind through the picturesque Cowichan Valley. We think you will love the new bike course.
In addition to the standard and sprint triathlons we have included a full compliment of Junior and Kids of Steel race distances so that youth aged 6 and older can participate in the event. It will be the only open water triathlon on Vancouver Island with youth categories.
There is an aquabike with a 1500m swim and a 40K bike that for 2022 is a qualifier for the 2023 World Aquabike Championships in Pontevedra, Spain.
The Cowichan Challenge is a great addition to the Human Powered Races on Vancouver Island. To learn more about our new event and to register visit the Cowichan Challenge website.
