A New Cross Triathlon On Vancouver Island
There is a new cross triathlon on Vancouver Island. Steam Donkey Racing is hosting a new cross triathlon in Cumberland in the Comox Valley of Vancouver Island on September 9th, 2018. Cumberland is quickly becoming a mecca for off road activity and the Dodge City X Tri is billed by organizers as the toughest cross triathlon in Canada. Race Director Ryan Parton has raced XTERRA Victoria (often called one of the toughest and best races on the XTERRA PAN AM World Tour) so he knows what this race has to compare with.
The event offers a full course, 1.5K swim/ 23K bike/ 9.5K run and a half distance sprint course. There is also a relay division.
Vancouver Island offers some of the best mountain biking anywhere in the world and it is a perfect locale for cross triathlon, the fastest growing multi-sport discipline in North America. It is great to see the another cross triathlon coming to the island. We at Human Powered Racing support events such as The Dodge City Off-Road Triathlon and the expanding options available for quality race experiences on Vancouver Island. We wish Ryan and his team great success!
